Fence types we install in Gettysburg

Most Gettysburg jobs we quote come down to how much privacy you want and how much maintenance you are willing to do. Here is the honest trade-off on each.

Vinyl privacy fence

The most common request we get, and what most of the work on this page is. Six-foot solid panels give full privacy, they do not need painting or staining, and a hose takes care of them. The trade-off is up-front cost — vinyl asks for more at install and gives it back over the years you never spend maintaining it.

Aluminum and ornamental fence

Where you want the yard enclosed without losing the view — pool surrounds, front boundaries, sloped ground. Aluminum racks to follow a grade rather than stepping down it, which matters on the rolling ground you get through Cumberland and Straban Townships. It will not rust, and the powder coat does not flake.

Wood fence

Still the best-looking option on the day it goes in, and the cheapest way to get real height and privacy. It needs sealing every few years to stay that way. If you like the look and do not mind the upkeep, wood is the right answer.

Chain link fence

Function over looks — dog runs, property lines, ball containment. It is the least expensive way to enclose a large area and it lasts. Black vinyl-coated chain link disappears into a treeline far better than galvanised, which is worth the small upcharge on a wooded Adams County lot.

Questions Gettysburg homeowners ask

The six that decide a job. If yours is not here, call — a real person answers, any hour.

What does a fence cost in the Gettysburg area?

It depends on material, length, gates and how much your ground moves — which is why we will not quote a number over the phone and call it a price. We measure on site and give you a written figure, free and with no obligation. If you want a rough range before that, the ballpark estimator above takes about two minutes.

Do you handle the permit and the HOA?

Yes. We handle permits, HOA approvals, drawing submissions and property-line coordination. Zoning in Pennsylvania is set municipality by municipality, so Gettysburg Borough does not run the same rules as Cumberland Township or Straban Township. Inside the borough there is an extra step: any exterior work in the historic district needs a Certificate of Appropriateness before it starts, and that includes a fence. HARB meets the third Wednesday of the month, applications are due about three weeks ahead, and Borough Council makes the final decision at its next business meeting. There is no fee for the certificate, and the building permit still comes after it — so a fence inside the district needs lead time rather than a same-week start. We deal with whichever office governs your address.

What if my fence gets damaged?

Our 5-Year Impact Guarantee covers accidental impact damage, lawn equipment damage, and falling branches or similar incidents. It does not cover intentional damage or vandalism, severe storms or acts of nature, normal wear and fading, or fire and heat damage.

What if something is wrong with the installation itself?

Our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty covers installation-related defects and workmanship issues for as long as you own your fence — and it is backed by Future Solutions Fence, not a third party. That distinction matters: you come to us, not to a manufacturer’s claims department.

What about the materials themselves?

Manufacturer material warranties vary by product, material and style, and typically cover defects in vinyl, aluminum and ornamental fencing. You receive the appropriate manufacturer warranty at the time of your estimate, and again on installation — so you know what you are covered for before you commit.

How far out from Gettysburg do you actually go?

Gettysburg is about thirty miles west of our York showroom at 446 N George Street, straight out Route 30, so it is comfortably inside the area we cover every week. That includes Cumberland, Straban, Mount Joy, Mount Pleasant, Freedom, Highland, Franklin, Butler and Hamiltonban Townships, and the boroughs at Biglerville, Bonneauville, Fairfield, Littlestown, Carroll Valley, New Oxford and McSherrystown. Cumberland Township alone holds close to four thousand acres of Gettysburg National Military Park, so a fair number of lots out there share a line with federal ground — worth flagging when you call, because the property line matters more than usual.
